Sophia Tao is an associate in the firm’s San Francisco office. She represents clients in a variety of disputes including personal injury, premises liability, and landlord‐tenant matters. Prior to joining Phillips, Spallas & Angstadt LLP, Ms. Tao was an associate at a boutique San Francisco firm focused on civil litigation.
Ms. Tao earned her Juris Doctor from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings). While attending law school, Ms. Tao served as a judicial extern for Justice Sandra Margulies in the California Courts of Appeal, First District. Ms. Tao was also the co‐executive acquisitions editor of the Hastings Constitutional Law Quarterly and inducted into the Pro Bono Society. While a student clinician, Ms. Tao assisted older patients with estate planning and advance care planning as part of the UCSF/UC Law SF Consortium on Law, Science & Health Policy.
Prior to law school, Ms. Tao graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacology. In her free time, Ms. Tao enjoys live music and exploring the outdoors.
