Ruchira De is an associate attorney based in our San Francisco office. Ms. De’s practice focuses primarily on insurance defense, representing insurance carriers and their insureds in a broad range of liability matters, including personal injury and general liability claims. Prior to joining Phillips, Spallas & Angstadt LLP, Ms. De was an associate attorney at a large multinational law firm in San Francisco focusing on Intellectual Property litigation.
Ms. De earned her Juris Doctor from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings College of the Law). While in law school, she served as judicial extern to the late Hon. Andrew Y.S. Cheng at the San Francisco Superior Court, Complex Litigation Department. Ms. De also served as Executive Articles Editor of Hastings Science and Technology Law Journal and President of Hastings Intellectual Property Association. She also represented UC Law SF in moot court and negotiation and dispute resolution competitions. Prior to law school, Ms. De earned a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Santa Clara University and a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from West Bengal University of Technology. She also has several years of experience working in technology companies in San Francisco Bay Area as a software engineer.
In her spare time, Ms. De likes to play badminton, cook interesting recipes, and read.
