San Francisco Office Obtains $6.6 Million Dollar Judgment on Behalf of Biopharmaceutical Client
Robert K. Phillips, Katherine Munter and Jessica Pliner brought an intellectual property case in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California on behalf of their biopharmaceutical client against a Japanese manufacturer. The defendant had misappropriated confidential information related to our client’s technology which is used in a number of medical, therapeutic and scientific uses and applications. The Court granted our motion for summary judgment on breach of contract, misappropriation of trade secrets and unfair competition claims and issued a permanent injunction barring defendants from using our client’s intellectual property and from manufacturing products using their protected technology. The Court further ordered an accounting and disgorgement of profits to our client based on defendants’ wrongful conduct and also granted our motion to dismiss defendants’ cross-complaint with prejudice.
